About Us

The Healdsburg Freight Depot Museum Society is a non-profit 501(c)3 Org dedicated to the restoration of the former NWP depot in the City of Healdsburg and opening it to the public as the Healdsburg Depot Museum.

We are just getting started towards this goal. We welcome everyone interested in the project to contact us for more information or stop by the depot anytime the doors are open. We are early in the planning stage and will be working closely with both civic agencies as well as the local community to bring this project to fruition.

We are also part of the greater planned "railroad park" concept and so will be working hand in hand with the Northwestern Pacific Railroad Historical Society, the group working to bring the park portion of the project to light.  As partners in the greater project we will utilize the talents and resources of both organizations to bring to Sonoma County a world class destination for the public, the budding model railroader and the Railfan alike.

The museums Board of Directors is comprised of the various exhibitors planned in the museum and will work closely with the society towards the goal of opening to the public while also working to bring to it the amazing historical displays and model railroad we envision.

The Society is an all volunteer organization and will rely on donations to kick start this endeavor. Please stay in touch and keep us in mind when looking how to spend that spare change floating around your house. Until we can apply for and receive what little Grants are available, the generosity of the public will be what gets this museum going.

                                                                     Thank You,

                                                                            HFDMS crew.
